In this week's interview on the Future of Accounting podcast, I chat with Scott Nelson about his career path from the State of California to the Big 4 to launching his own software startup.
After working in the Department of Commerce creating business incentive programs to attract companies to California, Scott went on to help KPMG and EY build out their business Incentives divisions on the West Coast. One of his biggest clients was Amazon, helping them go from two distribution centers to the massive global presence they are today!
He is now the founder of BIGcontrols, a software that helps companies, investors and CPA firms gain visibility into a company's tax credits and incentives programs.
In this episode, you will learn the importance of "cutting your teeth" in various industries in order to increase your value as a consultant and the exact steps you need to take in order to land a consulting role at a large accounting firm.
If you have a passion for site selection, regulation technology (RegTech), and business incentives, this is the episode for you!
